The Williams FW37 was the Formula 1 - racing cars of Williams Martini Racing for the Formula 1 World Championship 2015 . An illustration of the car was featured on the cover of the British motorsport magazine F1 Racing by Haymarket Publishing and on Twitter on January 16, 2015 , Williams published further illustrations on January 21, 2015. The car was on the Circuito de Jerez presented to the public for the first time.
Technology and development
The FW37 is the successor to the FW36 . Due to rule changes for the 2015 Formula 1 season, the vehicle is visually different from the predecessor model, as the provisions for the nose area have been significantly changed. The nose of the car is very short and does not protrude over the front wing. Immediately before the wing is attached, it tapers sharply, similar to the Red Bull RB11 .
The FW37 is powered by the Mercedes-Benz PU106B Hybrid , a 1.6-liter V6 engine with a turbocharger .
Painting and sponsorship
The basic color of the vehicle is white, just like the predecessor model, and there are stripes in different shades of blue with a slightly wider red central stripe, based on the logo of the main sponsor Martini , which run from the front wing attachment to the engine cover. The Martini logo is also attached to the rear wing, otherwise the front and rear wings are painted black.
The Unilever group advertises its Rexona brand on the front wing and side pods , and sponsor stickers from Petrobras , Randstad , Pirelli , Genworth Financial , Wihuri , Esquire , Oris and Kemppi can also be found on the vehicle.
driver
Williams also competed in the 2015 season with drivers Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa . Susie Wolff was a test driver and in this position the successor to Felipe Nasr , who got a regular cockpit at Sauber . After the Australian Grand Prix , Adrian Sutil was also signed as a substitute driver.
