The Williams FW24 was the Formula 1 - racing cars of Williams for the Formula 1 2002 season .
He followed the Williams FW23 used in the previous season and was replaced by the Williams FW25 in the 2003 season .
Livery and sponsors
The basic colors of the FW24 were white and blue. The sponsors were Allianz SE , FedEx , Castrol and Compaq .
driver
The driver pairing did not change compared to the previous year, Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya were the regular drivers. Test drivers were Marc Gené , Giorgio Pantano and Antonio Pizzonia .
Engine and tires
The car was equipped with a 3.0 liter V10 BMW P82 engine and ran on Michelin tires .
2002 season
With the FW24, Williams wanted to close the gap to Ferrari and McLaren , after being in third place in the constructors' championship in 2001. The Ferrari proved to be the superior car, Williams celebrated the only win of the season in the second race, the Malaysian Grand Prix , but was able to leave McLaren behind and thus achieve second place in the constructors' championship.
