Water lily price

The water lily prize is an art prize awarded to older, well-earned visual artists from the Munich area. The award was donated by the City of Munich in 1962 on the initiative of the then Lord Mayor Hans-Jochen Vogel and the painter Hermann Geiseler . Prize winners can also be artists who are closely connected to Munich in their art life. The prize is endowed with 4,000 euros.

The awarding body is the Seerosenkreis association . The Seerosenring is also awarded by its members as a traveling prize. So far, the winners have been Sylvie de Muralt , Baldur Geipel , Erhard Paskuda , Hans-Jörg Dürrmeier , Manfred Mayerle , Hans-Jochen Vogel , Franz Forchheimer , Konrad Hetz , Reinhard Fritz and Franz Weber-Berg .
