Reichersdorf is a district of the Thalmässing market in the Middle Franconian district of Roth in Bavaria .

Geographical location

The church village is located on the Jura plateau of the southern Franconian Jura at 562 meters above sea level, southeast of Ruppmannsburg .

The village corridor is 364 hectares .

Place name interpretation

Karl Kugler interprets the place name as "Dorf des Richheri, ie the rich, the mighty warrior, from richi, rich, powerful, and heri, warrior."

history

The place was probably in the 8./9. Founded Century. It is first mentioned in a document in 1129, when the Plankstetten monastery was equipped with goods. The local nobleman Wolffher de Richerstorff is named among the witnesses to the founding deed. He and his son Dietrich are also mentioned in the 12th century donation book of the Berchtesgaden Provost; The latter appears again as "Dietricus de Richersdorf" between 1146 and 1149 as a documentary witness for the Plankstetten monastery and in an episcopal-Eichstätt document from June 18, 1162. In 1372 Reichersdorf came under the rule of the burgrave of Nuremberg and in 1440 became Brandenburg -ansbachisch and was subordinate to the Oberamt Stauf-Landeck. In 1411 the Berchtesgaden monastery sold the property of its provost office (Groß-) Höbing to the Kastl monastery , and the latter sold the property in 1457 to the cathedral chapter of Eichstätt.

During the Thirty Years' War the village was ravaged by the Swedes; In 1642 there were no more horses or oxen available. In the area of ​​Reichersdorf, for example in the Reichersdorfer Leithnerackergrube, up to the 18th century Bohner ore with 30 percent iron content was mined in the opencast mine , this in margrave smelting works and - in the case of the Leithnerackergrube with rich seams of 3.5 feet thick - was smelted in the prince-bishop's iron smelting works in Obereichstätt.

Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , the village consisted of ten properties, of which three courtyards and five Köbler estates belonged to the former Brandenburg-Ansbach, and since 1792 Prussian caste office Stauf (since 1797 with seat in Thalmässing), which also exercised village and community rule, and two estates, which probably belonged to the Willibaldschorstift of the cathedral chapter Eichstätt since 1457. In addition to the village church, there was also the shepherd's house as communal property. The high jurisdiction lay until 1792/97 when Oberamt Stauf-Landeck. The church belonged to the lower Thalmässinger Evangelical-Lutheran parish of St. Gotthard.

In the new Kingdom of Bavaria (1806) Reichersdorf came together with Ruppmannsburg in 1808 to the Wengen tax district . With the community edict of 1818, Ruppmannsburg and Reichersdorf were merged to form the Rural community of Ruppmannsburg. Initially (from 1809) in the Raitenbuch regional court , the community came to the Greding regional court in 1812 .

In 1875, six horses and 125 head of cattle were kept among 77 inhabitants. Reichersdorf suffered from water shortages due to its location on the Alb plateau. The community envelope, a depression in the center of the village that collected the surface water, was used to supply domestic animals with water; the grazing cattle were supplied with water by the "Kühhüll" at Thalmässinger Weg. Some farms had their own shell. The rainwater was collected from the roofs as drinking water for the households by means of round cisterns. In 1920 wells were drilled in the village - a laborious undertaking given the rocky subsoil from a depth of about five meters, which was only crowned with success in one case. In 1926, a high-pressure water line was set up from a water tank at Hohen Rancken. In 1980/81 Reichersdorf joined the water supply of the Jura-Schwarzach-Thalach group. In 1934 the village was connected to the electrical network.

In the first years after the Second World War , the population had temporarily increased sharply due to refugees and displaced persons. On January 1, 1972, the municipality of Ruppmannsburg and thus also Reichersdorf was incorporated into the Thalmässing market in the Roth district.

Today, the children attend primary school in Thalmässing as learner drivers. In earlier times (so in the 19th century and until the 1960s) they went to school in Ruppmannsburg, which belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of St. Gotthard in Thalmässing.

In 2012/13, as part of the land consolidation , village renewal measures were started.
