The Tatra 75 is a Tatra automobile in Kopřivnice, Czechoslovakia, which was built in series from 1934 to 1942. It replaced the Tatra 54 .
The vehicle has an overhead , air-cooled four-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 1688 cm³ and an output of 30 hp (22 kW). The newly developed engine with a double-bearing and triple-cranked crankshaft has light-alloy cylinder heads and drives the rear wheels via a single-disc dry clutch, a four-speed gearbox with center shift and switchable freewheel and a shaft in the central tube of the frame . The top speed of the approx. 1200 kg heavy car is 90-100 km / h. The chassis has a central tube, a front axle with two transverse leaf springs and an articulated pendulum axle at the rear, also with transverse leaf springs. Steel disc wheels are installed. In contrast to its predecessors, all Tatra 75 have a hydraulic brake system and a V-shaped radiator dummy. The bonnet, front grille and fenders could be folded up in one piece.
Various 4- and 6-seater sedan bodies, the latter on an extended chassis, were offered. A total of 4501 copies were made within nine years.
The successor to this model was the differently designed Type 600 Tatraplan with rear engine from 1947 .
