The Tatra 141 was a heavy three-axle truck produced by the Czechoslovak vehicle manufacturer Tatra . It was developed from the Tatra 111 specifically as a heavy-duty tractor and replaced by the Tatra 813 in 1967 .
operation area
The Tatra 141 was primarily intended for pulling the heaviest loads in the railway , construction industry and the army . First and foremost, the vehicle had to tow Culemeyer - road scooters constructed. This is shown by the spacious all-steel double cabin designed for 8 people and the short platform, which was intended for an additional ballast of 5,500 kg. Characteristic of the vehicles were the bonnet , designed like the Tatra 111 , and the spare wheels attached to the rear. However, the tractors were not manufactured in Kopřivnice , but in the Tatra branch in Bánovce nad Bebravou in today's Slovakia . The vehicles were imported into the GDR between 1960 and 1970. 8 Tatra 141 tractors have been preserved in Germany, and 15 vehicles are said to have been preserved in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Various models are also reminiscent of the classic car. Such a somewhat older model in 1:87 scale from Espewe , a newer version exists in 1:43 scale.
technology
The technology of the vehicle was based on that of the Tatra 111 . Like all trucks from Tatra were also the tractor after the Tatra principle produced, ie with central tube frame , all-wheel drive and spur gear - differential gear . The vehicles built from 1957 to 1960 were built in a number of 640 copies and had the engine T 111 A-8 with a drive power of 180 hp. The vehicles built from 1961 onwards had the T 111 A-5 drive unit with an output of 185 hp. Of this variant, 4341 copies were made. Common to all variants was the twelve-cylinder, four-stroke diesel engine with air cooling . The engine had 3 camshafts. The engine was lubricated by pressure circulation . In contrast to the Tatra 111, the exhaust gases from the drive unit were diverted upwards behind the cab roof. The tractor was designed with 11.00-20 tires, single-wheel tires for the front axle and twin tires for the two rear wheels. The tractor was also equipped with a winch . This could be extended up to 100 m and had a pulling force of 8,000 kg.
Typical of the truck from Tatra have the wheels due to the Tatra principle during rebounding a positive camber . In contrast to the Tatra 111, the front windows had a positive slope. This shows that the vehicles are primarily used in the civilian sector. They had an electric alternator of 12 V and 200 W. The diesel engine was also started electrically with a starter of 24 V with 4.4 kW output.
