The Tatra Phoenix is a heavy truck. It was born from the collaboration between Tatra Trucks and DAF Trucks that began in August 2011. DAF Trucks supplies Tatra with engines and cabs for the Phoenix. The central tubular frame with axles and frame is produced by Tatra, the transmissions by ZF Friedrichshafen .
The Tatra Phoenix was presented in September 2011. In addition to the Euro V model from 2011, the vehicle has also been supplied with Euro VI engines since 2014.
In 2016, Tatra added the Tatra Phoenix T158-8P6R56.261 10 × 10.2 model to the Phoenix series . This is a dump truck specially developed for use in mining with a total weight of 60 and a payload of 37.5 tons . The truck has five driven axles.
The 1,000th Tatra Phoenix was produced in January 2017.
