The 13th stage of the Tour de France 2018 led over 169.5 kilometers from Bourg-d'Oisans to Valence on July 20, 2018 . The bumpy part of the day included a mountain classification of the third and fourth category and ended at the stage finish on a slightly rising home straight.

The stage winner in the mass sprint was Peter Sagan ( Bora-hansgrohe ) ahead of Alexander Kristoff ( UAE Team Emirates ) and Arnaud Démare ( Groupama-FDJ ). There were no changes in leadership in the overall standings or in the special ratings.

Vincenzo Nibali , fourth overall, who fell the day before, did not start the race. From the start, a top group of four formed with Thomas De Gendt , Tom Scully , Dimitri Claeys and Michael Schär . In the peloton, Démares Groupama-FDJ team in particular ensured the pace, so that the leading group never had a lead of more than three minutes. De Gendt won the first mountain classification and the intermediate sprint. Scully the second mountain classification. Before the finish, the leading group disintegrated and was gradually overtaken from 24 kilometers. The last outlier was Schär, who was awarded the red number , whose flight ended 5.5 kilometers from the finish.
