The 10th stage of the Tour de France 2018 led over 158.5 kilometers from Annecy to Le Grand-Bornand on July 17, 2018 .

After a mountain classification in the fourth category after 19 kilometers and the intermediate sprint for the points classification after 29 kilometers, there was a mountain classification in the hors categorie and three climbs in the 1st category: The Col de Croix Fry after 43 kilometers (11.3 kilometers ascent, 7% average gradient ), the Plateau des Glières after 68.5 kilometers (hors categorie), which has two kilometers of gravel road before the summit, the Col de Romme after 130 kilometers (8.8 kilometers ascent, 8.9% average gradient) and finally the Col de la Colombière after 144 kilometers (7.5 kilometers ascent, 8.5% average gradient).

The winner of the day was Julian Alaphilippe ( Quick-Step Floors ), who also took over the dotted jersey , 1:34 minutes ahead of Ion Izagirre and 1:40 minutes on Rein Taaramäe . Greg Van Avermaet was fourth, 1:44 minutes behind, and extended his lead in the overall standings. He was also awarded the red number on his back . The first field with the most favorites followed from seventh place, 3:23 minutes behind. Bob Jungels and Rafał Majka lost 4:14 minutes to the stage winner, last year's runner-up Rigoberto Urán 5:59 minutes. The previous wearer of the white jersey, Søren Kragh Andersen , crossed the finish line in 15:02 minutes and handed over the lead in the junior competition to Pierre Latour .

The first six riders of the stage were part of a 21-strong top group that formed after 20 kilometers. This group initially included Peter Sagan , who wore the green jersey , who won the intermediate sprint and thus extended his lead in the points classification. At the Col de Romme, Taraamäe and Alaphilippe withdrew. Alaphilippe distanced his companion on the descent.
