Career as a racing driver and team boss
Tracy Krohn started motorsport in 2003. After the first season, where he gained his first experience with racing starts in national sports car series, he started in the American Le Mans Series in 2004 . Just before the end of the 2015 racing year, he had contested 159 sports car races. In addition to an overall victory, he was able to celebrate two class wins. The overall win was early in the career, the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen in 2005 , a championship round of the Rolex Sports Car Series this year , he won with partner Niclas Jönsson on a Riley Mk.XI .
Niclas Jönsson became Krohn's most important racing partner. For the two pilots, who became close friends over the years, this partnership was an advantage. With Jönsson, Krohn received a reliable and fast professional racing driver at his side and Jönsson a fixed cockpit for many years, combined with a lucrative contract.
In 2005 he founded his own racing team with Krohn Racing . For many years, Krohn drove mainly in the GT classes in the North American sports car series and came second in 2007 and third in class in the Le Mans 24-hour race in 2009 and 2012 . In 2007 he also achieved the best placement and final classification with 19th place. In 2015 he was at Sebring .
In 2015, Krohn acquired a Ligier JS P2 . The Ligier was a lot faster than the GT-Ferraris with which Krohn was previously active. During the 2015 race, he produced a large number of turntables that led some TV commentators to make nasty remarks. After the race it turned out that the traction control had failed due to an electrical problem. While the two professional racing drivers Jönsson and João Barbosa were able to cope with it to some extent, Krohn had considerable problems with it. In the end, the trio came in 28th overall.
