The Richard Strauss Conservatory as a specialist academy for music in the state capital of Munich was a musical training facility for professional musicians and music teachers .
history
The Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich emerged from two institutions. In 1927 Jakob Trapp founded the Private Trapp'sche Music School , which was renamed the Trapp'sches Conservatory of Music five years later .
The second forerunner was the municipal vocational school for musicians , whose director from 1930 to 1936 was the composer Hans Lang .
In 1962, the state capital of Munich took over the sponsorship of the future Richard Strauss Conservatory , which was consolidated and restructured and named after the composer Richard Strauss . From 1967 to 1987 Peter Jona Korn was director of the institution.
On August 1, 2008, the Richard Strauss Conservatory was integrated into the Munich School of Music .
