The municipality is located about 16.5 kilometers north of Monza east of the Lambro at the Parco della Valle del Lambro . Veduggio con Colzano borders directly on the provinces of Como and Lecco . The Latin name of the place is Abetuculum .

The Strada Statale 36 del Lago di Como e dello Spluga runs through the municipality from Milan to the lakes in the north and on to the Splügen Pass in Switzerland. Together with the neighboring municipality of Renate, there is a train station on the Monza – Molteno railway line .
