Administrative divisions of the Arkhangelsk Oblast (without Novaya Zemlya . Franz Josef Land and Victoria Island )

The Arkhangelsk Oblast in the Northwestern Federal District of the Russian Federation is divided into 20 Rajons , 7 urban districts and the two island territories ( Russian островные территории ) Franz Josef Land and Victoria Island . A total of 19 urban and 158 rural communities are subordinate to the Rajons. In addition, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug is located within the Oblast as an autonomous federal subject . The current administrative structure of Arkhangelsk Oblast was established by the Oblast Law "On the Status and Limits of the Municipal Constructions of Arkhangelsk Oblast" ( "О статусе и границах территорий муниципальных муниципальных аниципальных аниципальных воразольных on September 23, 2004 on September 25, 2004 March 2016 changed.
