Weilbach is a municipality in Austria in the state of Upper Austria in the district of Ried im Innkreis im Innviertel with 622 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020). The community is located in the judicial district of Ried im Innkreis .
geography
Weilbach is 386 m above sea level in the Innviertel. The extension is 4.5 km from north to south and 5.4 km from west to east. The total area is 13.4 km². 15.7% of the area is forested, 75.4% of the area is used for agriculture.

history
Since the founding of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779 and came to Austria after the Treaty of Teschen with the Innviertel (then 'Innbaiern'). Briefly Bavarian again during the Napoleonic Wars , since 1814 it has finally belonged to Upper Austria.
After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on March 13, 1938, the place belonged to the Gau Oberdonau . After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria took place.
Population development
In 1991 the community had 603 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 it had 597 inhabitants. The decrease occurred despite the positive birth balance (+12), as the migration balance was more negative (−18). From 2001 to 2011 the birth rate increased significantly, it was able to offset the emigration, so that the population rose to 622 people.
Culture and sights
- The Catholic parish church in Weilbach is surrounded by a cemetery wall, the Gothic wedge stone cover of which is still partially in place. The two-bay , late-baroque nave was built in 1775. A slightly drawn-in, two-bay, Gothic choir with a 5/8 end is attached to the east. The baroque west tower with a high dome was built around 1780. According to the inscription, the high altar in the late baroque- classical tradition was erected in 1845. The side altars are more recent.
