Woodstock is a town in Oxford County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there were 1277 inhabitants in 974 households on an area of 121.42 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Woodstock has a total area of 121.42 km², of which 118.36 km² are land and 3.06 km² are water .
Geographical location
Woodstock is in southeast Oxford County. The Meadow Brook flows through the area of the town in a southerly direction. In the northwest are the North Pond and Bryant Pond , in the northeast several smaller lakes, the largest of which is Curtis Hill . The surface of the area is slightly hilly, the highest point is the 443 m high The Pinnacle .

history
The land grants for the area that is now organized as Town Woodstock resulted from two grants. One from Massachusetts to Dummer Academy on June 14, 1800 and the other to Gorham Academy on February 7, 1807. Woodstock was organized as a town on February 7, 1815. The Hamlin Grant area, a gore given to Cyrus Hamlin in 1816, was added to Woodstock in 1872. The settlement started in 1798 by Christopher and Solomon Bryant, two brothers from Paris. A short time later, other areas were settled.
Land was given to Paris in 1825 and 1827, some of which were taken back in 1841 and 1880, respectively. Part of Milton Plantation was added in 1853 and part of Greenwood in 1893.

Woodstock is part of the Maine School Administrative District 44 along with Andover, Bethel, Greenwood, Gilead, Hanover and Newry . There are two elementary schools, Crescent Park Elementary School and Woodstock Elementary School , as well as Telstar Middle School and Telstar High School . The Baily Memorial Library is located in the Clarendon Grange Community Center .
