Stow is a town in Oxford County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010 there were 385 inhabitants in 232 households on an area of 63.04 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Stow has a total area of 63.04 km², of which 62.70 km² is land and 0.34 km² consists of water .
Geographical location
Stow is west of Oxford County and borders Carroll County in New Hampshire . Much north of the Stow area is part of the White Mountain National Forest and is in the eastern portion of the National Forest. In this area, Shell Pond is located on the eastern border of the area. The Cold River flows south through the town. The surface of the area is hilly, the highest point being the 543 m high Blueberry Mountain .

Settlement in the area began in 1770. Stow was organized on January 28, 1833 as an independent town. Previously, parts of the area belonged to the Fryeburg Addition and the Bradley and Eastman's Grant .
