Magalloway Plantation is a plantation in Oxford County in the state of Maine in the United States . In 2010, 46 people lived there in 105 households on an area of 140.3 km².

According to the United States Census Bureau , Magalloway Plantation has a total area of 140.3 km², of which 125.3 km² are land and 15.0 km² consist of water .
Geographical location
Magalloway Plantation is located in northwest Oxford County and borders Coös County in New Hampshire . In the northeast lies the Beaver Pond in the area of the plantation , in the center of the north the Sturtevant Pond and in the east the Cranberry Pond . They are connected by the Sturtevant Stream and their outflow is Bear Brook , which leaves the area in a southwesterly direction. It is bordered by Umbagog Lake in the southwest and Lower Richardson Lake in the southeast . The surface of the area is hilly, the highest point being the 675 m high Johnson Mountain .

history
First, the area of Township No. 5, called First Range West of Bingham's Kennebec Purchase (T5 R1 WBKP) and organized in 1860 to give residents the right to vote. Magalloway was organized as a plantation on March 5, 1883. This was confirmed in 1991.

Maine State Route 16 runs through the northwestern part of the plantation . Otherwise there are no other paved roads, just unpaved roads in the area.

Apart from a campsite and a restaurant, there are no infrastructural facilities in the area of the Magalloway Plantation. The closest town with facilities is Errol , New Hampshire .
