Radio Herne is the local radio for the city of Herne . It went on the air in 1990 as Radio Herne 90acht and got its license from the State Agency for Media in North Rhine-Westphalia . Editor-in-chief until 2013 was Wolfgang Tatzel, who switched to Radio Vest . Christine Schindler has been the station's editor-in-chief since July 2013. As part of a marketing campaign by the operating company Westfunk , the station was given its new name on April 1, 2008. Since the program relaunch on January 11, 2010, the station has only been called Radio Herne.
Program and moderators
Radio Herne broadcasts local programs every day, including the morning program "Am Morgen" between 6:00 and 10:00 and the program "Am Afternoon" between 4:00 and 6:00 pm. The rest of the time, the program of the supporting program provider Radio NRW is broadcasted on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. until the early evening before local news every half an hour. The world news is taken over by Radio NRW. In accordance with the legal requirements, Radio Herne also broadcasts citizens' radio , which takes place from Monday to Friday from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on Sundays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Radio Herne am Morgen is moderated alternately by Christine Schindler and Achim Preikschat. Other moderators are Christine Thomas, Martin Lang and Stefan Erdmann.
