The R298 is a trunk road of federal importance in Russia . It leads from Kursk in an easterly direction via Voronezh to the R22 Kaspi near Borisoglebsk . It is 442 km long and part of the European route 38 from Hluchiw in the Ukraine via Oral to Shymkent in Kazakhstan .

The street was given the number R298 in 2010. Before that, it was numbered A144. The section from Borisoglebsk to Saratov , which used to be part of the A144, has been a branch line to the R22 (M6 until 2010) since the 1990s.
