In 1948 the medical and sports institute and the Heysel trainer school were founded. In 1954 the KBFV became one of the founding members of UEFA . On June 4, 1989, a new association building was opened near the Heysel Stadium . In 1992 the association received the FIFA Fair Play Prize for its humanitarian campaign Acción Diablos rojos Casa Hogar .
Since November 8, 2019, the KBFV has only used the English name Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) in its external presentation, including the name of the website or the logo . The move of the association headquarters to the newly built football center in Tubize is planned for March 2021 . Fixed workplaces for the video referees (VAR) are also to be set up there.
