Maxine (aka Gonny Buurmeester , born October 14, 1970 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch singer .
Together with singer Franklin Brown , she won the Dutch preselection for the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest . At the contest in Oslo , the duo reached seventh place with their hit De Eerste Keer (German: The first choice ). The duo separated after the competition and both became active as solo artists. Maxine released several singles over the next few years, which could place themselves in the Dutch charts. In 2000 she briefly moved into the Dutch Big Brother house . In 2003 she released two house productions, Free (let it be) and Fuel to fire , which she sang for DJ Stuart .
