Cavan ( Breton : Kawan ) is a French commune with 1,564 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lannion , the canton of Bégard and is a member of the Lannion-Trégor Communauté community association founded in 2015 . The residents call themselves Cavannais (es) .

Cavan is located around eleven kilometers as the crow flies southeast of the small town of Lannion in northern Brittany.

The increasing mechanization of agriculture and the numerous deaths of the First World War led to a drop in the number of inhabitants to the lows of recent times.
Attractions
The tower of the Saint-Chéron church, with parts from the 14th century, dates from the 17th century and has been classified as a monument historique since 1926 .
