Nemcovce (Hungarian Kapinémetfalu ) is a municipality in the east of Slovakia with 479 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) in Prešov District , part of the kraj Prešovský , and is the traditional landscape Šariš counted.
geography
The community is located on the southern edge of the Low Beskids in the valley of a stream in the Ladianka catchment area . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 283 m nm and is 12 kilometers away from Prešov .
In addition to the main town, the northern settlement of Zimná Studňa also belongs to the municipality .
Neighboring municipalities are Chmeľovec and Šarišská Trstená in the north, Čelovce in the northeast, Lipníky in the east, Šarišská Poruba in the south and Lada in the west.
history
The place arose in the 14th century under German law and was first mentioned in writing in 1364 as Nemethfalua . The village was part of the Chmeľovec estate. In 1427 19 porta were recorded in a tax certificate , Nemcovce was a medium-sized village, inhabited exclusively by subjects. In 1787 the village had 39 houses and 288 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 47 houses and 354 inhabitants who were employed as farmers, cattle keepers and manufacturers of wooden tools. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the Ghillányi family owned goods in the village.
Until 1918, the place in Sharosh County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
In 1990 part of the municipality was incorporated into the newly founded municipality of Lipníky.

According to the 2011 census, Nemcovce had 472 inhabitants, including 462 Slovaks , three Roma and one Czech . Six residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
256 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 180 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, five residents to the Greek Catholic Church, two residents to the Apostolic Church and one resident to the Seventh-day Adventists. 13 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 15 residents was not determined.
