The Centro Nacional de Tiro ( German  National Shooting Center ) is a shooting range in the Olympic Park Deodoro of Rio de Janeiro .

history

The Centro Nacional de Tiro was built for the Pan American Games in 2007 based on a design by BCMF Arquitetos . Modernized and expanded for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . Shooting competitions took place during the games . At the 2016 Paralympics , the facility was also the venue for the shooting competitions.

Despite being a recently constructed building, some standards from the International Shooting Federation had to be updated, in addition to maintaining the aiming system, air conditioning, and hydraulic and electrical systems.

In view of the very high costs, the responsible architecture firm Vigliecca & Associados analyzed various options to reconcile the requirements of the IOC and the existing structure. In addition to the existing grandstand on the outside area with 600 seats, a temporary grandstand with 2,000 seats was built.
