history

The hall was built for the 2016 Summer Olympics . Construction work began in mid-July 2015 and was completed in the first quarter of 2016. The arena was opened in March 2016. The Brazilian architects Vigliecca & Associados were responsible for the construction.

During the 2016 Summer Olympics , basketball games and modern pentathlon fencing took place in the arena . At that time the hall had a capacity of 5000 seats, of which 3000 were temporary seats that were removed after the games. carried out.
