The Estádio do Deodoro ( German Deodorostadion ) was a temporary stadium in the Olympic Park Deodoro of Rio de Janeiro .
history
The stadium was built around a polo field for the 2016 Summer Olympics and inaugurated on March 2, 2016 by the mayor of the city, Eduardo Paes . The tubular steel stands offered 20,000 spectators the opportunity to watch the rugby matches of the games. Furthermore, the combined in the modern pentathlon was played here in the stadium. As part of the subsequent Paralympics in 2016 , the stadium was used as a competition venue for the 7-a-side football games. After the games, the grandstands were dismantled again.
