The two editors Aria Nejati and Jonas Lindemann discussed the album on Hiphop.de :
Nejati reminds the album "of something that has already been there in every phase" and sounds like a satire of the album Watch The Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West . He would have wished for “a darker, more consistent approach” for CLA $$ IC . Especially Shindy need "for his Haute Couture braggadocio no annoying-blaring trumpets and odd-experimental arrangements" .
For Lindemann, on the other hand, the album “fulfilled the classic claim” . For the most part he had “nothing to complain about” because the producers Bushido , Shindy, Djorkaeff and Beatzarre had “delivered a lot” for him . Both critics positively highlight the songs Shiny and Losing Hate .
The website laut.de rated the album with two out of a possible five points and criticized, among other things, that Bushido could not keep up with Shindy in terms of rap technique:
" Bushido seems to" CLA $$ IC "[...] at times like a clumsy defender who doesn't know what to do other than to get the opposing striker off his feet with a bloodstreak. Actually, it doesn't matter that Bushido seems to be overwhelmed by the productions every now and then and flows alongside the beat. As is well known, technical versatility has never been one of his strengths; the Berliner has always been characterized by an inimitable attitude, as he repeatedly demonstrated on "Sonny Black". But little of that remains on "CLA $$ IC", the two protagonists circulate too much thematically about themselves and their bank balance. [...] The "Watch The Throne" feeling that there was somehow more in it degrades "CLA $$ IC" to an album that is surprisingly neutral considering its protagonists. "
The website rap.de praised the good production of CLA $$ IC , whereas the text content was sometimes described as weak:
“ Lyrically elegant, but content-wise, the album babbles quite uneventfully, but earth-shattering content is not the crux of the matter here anyway. The undisputed star of the album are the high-gloss productions that the duo created together with Djorkaeff and Beatzarre. Every single beat shines with high society glamor, sounds like the soundtrack of a strictly secret meeting of an occult power elite in the torchlight, but it is never applied too thick and pompous. [...] It is simply a melodious album, which has a noteworthy independent and high quality sound, but after a few times of listening it will probably disappear with me. "
