Division 1 Féminine 2014/15
The 2014/15 season of Division 1 Féminine was the 41st edition of the French women's football championship since the official recognition of women's football by the FFF, the Football Association of France , in 1970 and the first edition in the 1974/75 season . The Division 1 Féminine called league is in pure League mode played in a group consisting of a single group, comprising twelve teams, national top division.
The season started on August 30, 2014 and ended on May 9, 2015; Between December 21st and January 11th there was only a short winter break due to the World Cup , during which the first division had to intervene in the national cup . The last eight rounds in the 2015 calendar year were spread over an unusually long period. From January to March as well as in May there were only two match days due to the cup and international matches of the national team , in April there were even none.
Defending champion Olympique Lyon won the championship for the ninth time in a row.
Qualification and mode of competition
For the eligibility to participate, only the performance of the women's teams in the previous season was taken into account; Qualified were the nine best-placed teams of the previous season as well as three promoted teams, who had each finished their group in Division 2 Féminine as first in the table. The place of AS Algrange , whose women's department joined FC Metz after their promotion, has taken the latter. Thus the following twelve participants started this season:
- from the north: Arras FCF , promoted FF Issy , Juvisy FCF , promoted FC Metz , Paris Saint-Germain
- from the west: EA Guingamp , ASJ Soyaux
- from the south: newcomers ASPTT Albi , defending champions Olympique Lyon , HSC Montpellier , AF Rodez , AS Saint-Étienne
The championship is played in a double round of points in which each participant competes in home and away games against each other. The " modified three-point rule " , which is also common in French amateur football well into the 21st century, applies with four points for a win, two for a draw and one for a defeat won on the field; In the event of a tie, the direct comparison first and, if necessary, then the better total goal difference , if there is still a tie, the higher number of hits, if applicable, is decisive. At the end of the season, the three bottom of the table have to be relegated, who will be replaced for the coming season by three promoted teams - the winners of the three groups of the second division.
The French champions as well as the runners-up in Division 1 Féminine qualify for the women's European Cup competition of the following season .

In the summer transfer period there were comparatively few spectacular personnel changes this time, because only Paris has notably strengthened itself (additions from Caroline Seger , Fatmire Alushi , Josephine Henning and Ann-Katrin Berger , while Tobin Heath and Caroline Pizzala left the capital); PSG's stated goal is to win the championship. At Lyon, the change of coach from Patrice Lair to Gérard Prêcheur caused a stir; Otherwise, the club continued its course of thrift and signed Ada Hegerberg and goalkeeper Méline Gérard only two better-known players. These two clubs are also the only ones whose entire line-up consists of " full-time proettes ". The league favorites met in the first half of the season on November 1st; In addition, the Champions League draw showed that they also had to play two round of 16 matches at European level in the following two weeks. The league game in Lyon took place in front of a good 10,100, the two matches in the European Cup in front of 6,300 and 8,500 spectators respectively.
Juvisy has only supplemented its squad for the "first season after the Soubeyrand era " at certain points and without significant investments, but nevertheless aims to "tickle" the title favorites. Finally, Montpellier is increasingly relying on its young players such as Claire Lavogez or Sandie Toletti , who shone at the U-20 World Cup in August . For this, the MHSC has grown from the ex-internationals Hoda Lattaf (End of career), Ludivine Diguelman , Élodie Ramos and Ophélie Meilleroux (all three for second division FF Nîmes Métropole Gard ) and by Josefine Öqvist and Christmas by Jennifer Beattie separately with Laëtitia Tonazzi from Lyon and the Swede Sofia Jakobsson also brought in two experienced attackers. Last year's fifth from Guingamp also increased moderately (additions from Marine Dafeur from Hénin-Beaumont , Aminata Diallo from Arras, Ugochi Desire Oparanozie and at the beginning of the second half of the season still Ami Ōtaki ), who can rely on at least seven current U-20 World Cup participants And by the way, Sarah M'Barek is the only woman on a coaching chair in this league. Arras alone has five newcomers from the northern French neighbor and relegated FCF Hénin-Beaumont. Of the newcomers, only Albi has invested more and signed three foreigners: Stephanie Roche from Ireland and the Americans Catherine Fitzsimmons and Caroline Brown ; Metz finally brought the 33-year-old Brazilian Simone back to France, who worked in Lyon until 2009.
After the first half of the season, the ranking of the last few years was at the top of the table - Lyon ahead of Paris and Juvisy; only Montpellier could not keep up and could only place behind Guingamp due to numerous draws against weaker teams. Otherwise, the first half of the season brought little surprise, apart from the fact that new league Albi established himself in the middle of the table. The other two newcomers are fighting against relegation together with Arras and Saint-Étienne, who had only been able to keep a hair's breadth in the D1F in the preseason.
The first preliminary decision was made at the beginning of January when, thanks to its victory at Juvisy, Paris turned the three into a duel for championship and Champions League places. The decisive clash for the title took place on February 21, when Lyon clearly prevailed in Paris. At least mathematically, all major decisions were made prematurely - three game days before the end of the season, the relegation of Arras and Issy, a round later that of Metz and the renewed title win by Lyon were certain. For the third time, Olympique have played a season without any point loss and have also significantly increased their own league goal record set in 2012/13 (so far: 132 hits).
The second division climbers for the following season are VGA Saint-Maur (six-time national champion in the 1980s and D1F returnees after 17 years ), ESOF La Roche (most recently in the top division in 2011) and as an absolute newcomer to FF Nîmes Métropole Gard .
