The three-band Challenge World Masters 2018/1 (short: 3CC Masters) is a new 2018 introduced three band-tournament series in the discipline of Karambolagebillards and finds the first time from 12 to 15 July in Seoul in South Korea instead. The tournament is organized by the UMB and Kozoom . With the high prize money of US $ 220,000, it is the tournament series with the highest endowment in the history of UMB to date.
history
The tournament series starts with big problems. The Korean Billiards Association (KBF) has a dispute with the UMB. The KBF does not agree with the guidelines of the UMB for tournaments in Korea. Since the UMB has signed a contract with Kozoom, which enables considerably higher prize money at UMB tournaments, the KBF is reluctant to adhere to these guidelines. The KBF would like to market tournaments in Korea itself. Thus, the KBF started a parallel tournament in Korea on the same date, in which the best Korean three-cushion players have to play. With Kim Haeng-jik , Cho Jae-ho and Kang Dong-koong, numbers 4.7 and 22 are missing from the world rankings.

Tournament mode
The tournament starts with innovations in three-cushion billiards. Each match is played on 20 recordings, the peak time is 30 seconds with four possible time-outs. The starting positions of the balls are determined by a computer. The system was developed by MyWebSport . Player A starts the first 10 shots and player B has to start with the same starting positions. Each player must try to score as many points as possible with the position. Player B begins the next 10 shots. It is played in eight groups of three. The two best in the group reach the round of 16. In the knockout round, 20 recordings are also played. In the event of a tie, extra time is played. Both players start with the classic starting ball. If a game has already been decided, player 2 no longer has to play the last position. The GD achieved so far counts for the seeding list in the round of 16. The field of participants consists of the top 20 places in the world rankings after the World Cup in Ho Chi Minh City and four wildcards. Another new feature is that the billiards are covered with gray cloths.
In the event of a tie, the following order will be applied:
- MP = match points
- GD = general average
- HS = maximum series
