Location of the calibration office in the city of Greiz

The Eichleite settlement belongs to the district of Obergrochlitz / Caselwitz of the city of Greiz in the district of Greiz in Thuringia .

location

The Eichleite is east of Caselwitz and south of Obergrochlitz on a mezzanine floor in the valley to the left of the White Elster . In the east there is a steep slope towards the river, on the opposite side is the village of Dölau .

history

The development of the Eichleite is relatively young. It was not until around 1930 that the location developed into a place to live for workers. In particular, employees of the Dölauer chemical plant, to which a direct road, which is now closed, built single-family houses here. These still shape the image of the settlement today.

The Eichleite area used to belong to the municipality of Caselwitz, which merged with Obergrochlitz to form the municipality of Caselwitz-Grochlitz in 1922 . The Eichleite now belongs to the village of Obergrochlitz, as indicated by the sign . It is not known exactly when and how this shift in affiliation came about.

village life

The fountain festival is celebrated annually in the settlement . This is celebrated on the occasion of the restoration of the village well in 1997.
