Eubenberg is a hamlet of the hamlet Cossengrün / Hohndorf / Schönenbach the city Greiz in the district of Greiz in Thuringia . Until 2012 it belonged to the Arnsgrün district of the Vogtländisches Oberland community .

location

The Eubenberg field covers 154 ha and extends on the ridge between Triebitzbach and Lohbach. In addition to the main town, it also includes the hamlet of Kesselmühle .

Eubenberg lies between the places Schönbach in the southeast, Leiningen in the north, Arnsgrün in the southwest and Büna in the west. The place can be reached via the L 2342 ( Bernsgrün - state border ), which leads past the Triebitzbachtal.

history

30 residents live in the hamlet, which was first mentioned on March 17, 1372 as "Ybinberg". The name "Neieberg" has been popular since the 17th century, which can be traced back to the name "Neuberg" in Fröbersgrüner church records. In 1864 Eubenberg had 12 houses in which 77 people lived. On July 1, 1950, Eubenberg was incorporated into Arnsgrün. This community went up in 1999 in the Vogtland Oberland . On December 31, 2012, the hamlet was spun off from Arnsgrün and incorporated into the city of Greiz . This happened against the earlier district boundaries, so that the southern places Schönbach and Cossengrün did not become exclaves of the city of Greiz in Saxony .
