Untertannendorf is a district of the city of Greiz in the district of Greiz in Thuringia . Locally, the settlement is also simply referred to as Tannendorf , with the neighboring town of Obertannendorf also being called Hasental .

location

Untertannendorf is located south of Greiz and northeast of Obergrochlitz . Obertannendorf joins on the northern height. The place is in the Hasental, a side valley of the White Elster , mainly on the southern slope side.

history

The grounds of Untertannendorf used to belong to Gut Hasental, which was built around 1650 on the road between Obergrochlitz and Greiz. Around 1800 it was converted into the princely Kammergut Tryfle (from English trifle: little thing) - the name referred to the small size of the courtyard. Before that, the areas south of the street were sold as building plots, where the Tannendorf was built and in 1784 it became its own municipality. With the establishment of Obertannendorf, the original settlement was renamed Untertannendorf. Both communities were incorporated into Greiz in 1856. Today, the area north of the street largely contains the "Tryfle" allotment garden , and the "Friendship" kindergarten further towards Greiz. The chamber property no longer exists.

The place is crossed by Tannendorfstrasse ( Kreisstrasse 203), on the southern side of which most of the houses are located. This crosses the federal highway 92 to the east and leads into Greizer Neustadt. Up in the valley, the road branches off to Obertannendorf. Other roads open up the southern slope of the Hasental valley.

Local public transport is covered by PRG Greiz with line 12. This connects the place every hour during the week and every two hours on the weekend with Greiz.
