Gablau is a hamlet of the hamlet Cossengrün / Hohndorf / Schönenbach the city Greiz in the district of Greiz in Thuringia . Until December 31, 2012 it belonged to the municipality of Vogtland Oberland .

location

The hamlet of Gablau is located near the state border with Saxony in the heavily hilly terrain of the Thuringian Slate Mountains . The next town is Elsterberg . The hamlet is well connected to traffic via the federal road 92 and local roads.

history

The place was first mentioned on August 25, 1291. Gablau had 15 houses in 1864, in which 87 people lived. On July 1, 1950 Gablau was incorporated into Leiningen, which in turn came to Hohndorf in 1994 . This community went up in 1999 in the Vogtland Oberland . On December 31, 2012, the hamlet was incorporated into the city of Greiz .
