Obertannendorf is a district of the city of Greiz in the district of Greiz in Thuringia . The settlement is known locally under the name Hasental , although it is actually further south and Obertannendorf on the same level.

location

Obertannendorf is located southwest of Greiz and northeast of Obergrochlitz . The place lies above the valley of the White Elster and can be seen across the city. In the north is the temple forest with the eponymous Gasparin temple . The southern boundary forms the Hasental with Untertannendorf .

history

The pine village was built towards the end of the 18th century after areas on the road between Obergrochlitz and Greiz were sold as building plots. This today's Untertannendorf also included the area of ​​the later Obertannendorf and was incorporated into Greiz in 1856. Obertannendorf only became more important in the new building phase of the GDR, in which 220 apartments were built in prefabricated construction . The place also includes numerous semi-detached houses .

It is not known since when the name Hasental has been used synonymously for the place. However, it is also used, for example, in the urban development concept of the city of Greiz. Untertannendorf is simply referred to as Tannendorf .

traffic

The place is connected to the regional road network with only one paved road. This leads out of the valley through the village to the Tempelwald sports field. A dirt road also connects Obertannendorf with the Schleußengut . Footpaths lead to the Salzweg, part of Greizer Neustadt, and to Obergrochlitz.

Local public transport is covered by PRG Greiz with line 12. This connects the place every hour during the week and every two hours on the weekend with Greiz.
