Eischeid is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Eischeid lies on a small mountain ledge in the Bergisches Land , from which some streams arise, u. a. the Dreisbach . Neighboring towns are Neunkirchen in the west, Höfferhof in the north, Krawinkel in the east and Oberhorbach in the south.

history

Until 1969 the village belonged to the municipality of Neunkirchen .

In 1830 Eischeid had 240 inhabitants. In 1845 the village had 296 Catholic residents in 53 houses. In 1888 there were 216 residents in fifty houses.

On April 25, 1887 a school was inaugurated in the village.

In 1901 the village had 182 inhabitants. 40 families are named, 28 of them arable . In addition to many craftsmen and small traders, a landlord Heinrich Wilhelm Herchenbach, teacher Franz Kamp and landowner Wilhelm Sommerhäuser are listed.
