Bruchhausen is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Bruchhausen is at the upper end of the Wahnbachtalsperre in the Bergisches Land on federal highway 56 . Neighboring towns are Pohlhausen in the west and Herkenrath in the south. The Herkenrathermühle , formerly located to the east, has gone under.

history

In 1830 Bruchhausen had 70 inhabitants. In 1845 the hamlet had 93 Catholic residents in eleven houses. In 1888 there were 56 residents in 15 houses.

In 1901 the hamlet had 63 inhabitants. The families Hausierer HJ Brochhäuser, Ackerer Franz Höntgesberg, Ackerer Peter Kurtenbach, Ackerer Wilhelm Nolden, Ackerer Wilhelm Peters, Ackerer Widow Wilhelm Peters, Schuster Johann Schmitt, Ackerer Wilhelm Schmitz, Ackerer Widow Adolf Siebertz, Ackerer Wimar Siebertz and Ackerer Johann Söntgerath are recorded.

Until 1969 the village belonged to the municipality of Neunkirchen .
