Gutmühle is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the North Rhine-Westphalian Rhein-Sieg district .

Geographical location

Gutmühle is located in the Bergisches Land around 1 km southeast of Seelscheid , the northern capital of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid. It is located in the Bergisches Land nature park above the confluence of the small Schwitzelsbach and the Wahnbach, which passes southeast of the hamlet . State road  189 also runs there .

climate

Due to the location in a trough formed in windless nights a cold air, so the temperature in Gutmühle in particular at a temperature inversion is lower than about 3 to 4 degrees z. B. in Seelscheid. In February 2012 the temperature was −19 degrees Celsius and in March 2013 it was −14 degrees.

history

Gutmühle was first mentioned in 1461 when an annual memorial was established. Gertrud von der Guder Moelen wanted to have held this in the monastery Bödingen . In 1582 Gutmühlenbauer Braun built the Steinermühle above the Wahnbach .

In 1830 Gutmühlerhof had a mill and 47 residents. In 1845 the farm had 54 Catholic residents in nine houses. In 1888 there were 40 residents in twelve houses.

In 1910 the families Zimmerer Hubert Bonrath, Ackerer Peter Fielenbach, Ackerin widow Peter Kurtenbach, Schuster Wilhelm Schmitz, Ackerer Wimar Schmitz, Ackerer Heinrich Stommel and Müller Heinrich Stommel lived here.

The settlement belonged to the Seelscheid community until 1969 .

village life

The numerous historical half-timbered houses in their original condition as well as the Auszeit restaurant in Gut Mühle from the 15th century, which was included in the directory The 100 most beautiful country inns in Germany , are particularly worth seeing .
