Köbach is a district on the eastern edge of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The lower of two streams, also named Köbach, runs past Köbach to Werschbach , which flows into the Bröl . A few hundred meters northeast of the brook in the neighboring municipality of Much there is a village of Köbach on the smaller and higher Werschbach tributary of the same name.

Traditions

During celebrations such as weddings and communions, the Köbach village community decorates the affected house with a wreath of fir branches.

In Köbach there is a wayside cross or a wayside shrine . Every seven years the Corpus Christi procession leads from the church of St. Anna Hermerath through Köbach, for which the cross and the place are decorated. The inscription on the shrine reads:

Save your soul
Erected
for the glory of God
by the married couple
Albert Franken u.
Elisabeth Franken
born Herchenbach
from Köbach 1919
