Scherpekotten is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Scherpekotten is the northernmost place in the municipality. It is located northwest of Mohlscheid above the Naafbachtal on the borders with Much and Overath . Neighboring place in the northeast is Schlichenbach .

history

In 1830 Scherpekotten had 13 inhabitants. In 1845 the place had 22 Protestant residents in four houses. In 1888 there were 18 residents in four houses.

In 1901 the homestead had twelve residents. Are listed Schuster August Breideneichen and Ackerer Carl elections. 1910 as well, but August Breideneichen is now also a farmer.

The village belonged to the community of Seelscheid until 1969 .
