Rengert is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Rengert is located on a mountain divide in the Bergisches Land in the westernmost part of the municipality. The hill is formed by the Naafbach and Lessbach . Neighboring towns are Effert in the south, Wahlen in the west and Rippert in the east.

history

The village belonged to the community of Seelscheid until 1969 .

In 1830 Rengerth had eighty residents. In 1845 the farm had 4 Catholic and 95 Protestant residents in 16 houses. In 1888 there were 98 residents in 22 houses.

In 1901 the village had 77 inhabitants. The families Julius Bergfelder, Heinrich Ebels, Emil, Johann Wilhelm and Oswald Haas, Johann Heider, Carl Heinen, August and Regina Klink, Wilhelm Kraus, two Bernhard Kröger, Wilhelm Meier, widow Wilhelm Röttgen, Heinrich Weesbach and widow Johann Zimmermann are listed. Most of them were farmers , but there were also the carpenters Ebels and Heinen, the specialty dealer Klink, the shoemaker Kraus and the millers and joiners Kröger.
