In addition to the mayor, there was a police officer, a doctor and two midwives. In terms of clubs, there was a comradely club, the Söntgerath choir, the Germania gymnastics club from Wiescheid, the loan association, the cattle insurance association and the association for the protection and promotion of non-profit interests.
In addition to the town hall of the new community, the Catholic parish church of St. Margareta and a Protestant church, the Antoniuskolleg founded in 1899 , the Clara-Schumann-Realschule and the community secondary school Neunkirchen-Seelscheid are located in Neunkirchen .
In Neunkirchen there was a hospital until the end of the 1970s, initially in a half-timbered house in the center, then in a newly constructed larger building on the southern outskirts. Afterwards it served as a retirement home for a long time and is now used for residential and commercial space.
Two industrial areas are located in the local area. In the northern industrial area of Ohlenhohn, numerous small and medium-sized businesses are located, including the electronics company Tyco International . On the industrial site in the south there was a factory of the cosmetics company Avon , later a production of the beverage manufacturer Eckes and then of the company Eschbach Keramik. Today another use of the partially fallow land that makes sense for the location is under discussion.
