Weiert is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district .

Weiert is on a ridge in the Bergisches Land west of Nackhausen , another neighboring town is Oberdorst in the southeast.

history

In 1830 Weygerth was mentioned with 33 inhabitants. In 1845 the hamlet had 34 Catholic residents and 7 Evangelical residents in nine houses. In 1888 there were 53 residents in twelve houses.

In 1901 the settlement had 36 inhabitants. The family of fruit traders Johann Bergfelder, tradesman August Müller, Ackerer Josef Odenthal, Ackerer Heinrich Pütz, the bricklayers Gerhard and Wilhelm Söntgerath as well as Ackerer Peter Josef Stommel are listed.

The village belonged to the community of Seelscheid until 1969 .
