Mohlscheid is a district of the municipality of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Mohlscheid is located on a Bergscheid in the Bergisches Land on the border with Much . Neighboring places are Scherpekotten and Much- Schlichenbach in the north, Nackhausen in the east and Hohn in the south.

history

Today's Mohlscheid includes the formerly independent districts of Heidgen (present center) and Meisenbach (in the southwest).

In 1830 Mohlscheid had 62 inhabitants. In 1845 the place had 62 Protestant and one Catholic residents in twelve houses. In 1888 there were 73 residents in 18 houses.

Around 1900, Penny non-ferrous metal ore was mined in the mine to the west .

The village belonged to the community of Seelscheid until 1969 .
