Ernst Martin Emil Elben (born August 11, 1795 in Stuttgart , Duchy of Württemberg ; † October 9, 1873 in Stuttgart, Kingdom of Württemberg ) was a doctor of German studies and chief editor of the Stuttgart daily Schwäbischer Merkur .

Emil Elben is the fourth oldest son of five sons Christian Gottfried Elben , the founder of Swabian Mercury, and his wife, Sophie Caroline Auguste Magdalene Elben, née Feuerlein .

Emil Elben married his cousin Luise Auguste Leopoldine Conradi on May 4, 1823 in Stuttgart (born August 25, 1805 in Stuttgart; † January 31, 1890 in Stuttgart). There are ten children from this marriage

Life

Emil Elben became a Dr. phil. PhD. Unlike his brother, Otto Elben, who took an extremely active part in the cultural and political life of Stuttgart at the time as a patron and music lover, it is described that Emil Elben lived more withdrawn. He died in Stuttgart on October 9, 1873 and was buried on October 12, 1873.
