Franconian Switzerland Association
The Franconian Switzerland Association e. V. (FSV) is the home club with the largest number of members in the Franconian Switzerland region . It was founded in 1901 with its seat in Streitberg (Wiesenttal) and is entered in the register of associations in Bamberg under VR 10263. The office is located in the Streitberger Bürgerhaus.
The association has more than 6500 members in the districts of Forchheim , Bayreuth , Bamberg , Erlangen-Höchstadt and Kulmbach . 48 cities, markets, municipalities and associations are active as corporate members. 15 working groups deal with the cultural development of the region, including the working groups local history, building and design, folk music and traditional costumes.
history
The association was founded on September 29, 1901 in Schüttersmühle . The association dissolved in 1934 and was re-established in Muggendorf on July 5, 1947 .
Local groups
The association has 45 local groups. Each local group has an independent executive committee with voting rights , which meets twice a year with the executive committee of the main association to exchange ideas and to prepare events. There are local groups in the following communities and small regions of Central and Upper Franconia : Affalterthal , Ailsbach-Ahorntal , Aufseß-Neuhaus-Hochstahl , Bärnfels , Bayreuth , Behringersmühle , Betzenstein , Bubenreuth , Drosendorf , Ebermannstadt , Eggolsheim , Egloffstein , Engelhardsberg (Wiesangenenttal) , Erlangen , Forchheim , Geschwand , Gößweinstein , Graefenberg , Hallerndorf , Heiligenstadt , Hiltpoltstein , Hohenmirsberg (Pottenstein) , Hollfeld , Kirchehrenbach , Kirchenbirkig , Königsfeld , Leutenbach , Morschreuth , Muggendorf , Nuremberg , Obernsees , Obertrubach , Pegnitz , Pottenstein , Pretzfeld , Streitberg - , Thuisbrunnstein Haidhof , Tüchersfeld , Unterer Aischgrund , Unteres Trubachtal , Unterleinleiter , Waischenfeld , Weißenohe , Wichsenstein , Wolfsberg (Obertrubach) and Wonsees .
Culture award
The association's culture prize is awarded by the board of directors “for outstanding achievements and merits in the field of culture and customs in Franconian Switzerland”. The winners include authors from the series of publications, such as the castle researcher Hellmut Kunstmann, and people who have been involved in the work of the association for many years.
Magazines and books
There are two series of publications of the association: the main series with currently 18 volumes "The Franconian Switzerland - Landscape and Culture" deals with topics that affect the entire Franconian Switzerland. In the second row, the “Heimatkundliche Aufhefte” (local history supplements), special topics are dealt with (currently 23 issues have appeared).
Awards
The Franconian Switzerland Association was awarded the Eichendorff plaque in 2001.
