The Bundesliga 2000/2001 was the eleventh season of the women's Bundesliga. The 1. FFC Frankfurt won the championship title for the second time. For the first time, the 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam was runner-up. Both clubs should dominate German women's football in the coming years.

season

FFC Heike Rheine and 1. FC Saarbrücken were lucky in the misfortune . The clubs should have been relegated as penultimate or last. Since the Sportfreunde Siegen did not receive a license for the coming season and the FFC Flaesheim-Hillen withdrew its team, they could remain in the Bundesliga. The hopes of the women from Flaesheim to keep the Bundesliga by joining FC Schalke 04 were dashed. With SC Freiburg and Hamburger SV , two former Bundesliga clubs returned to the upper house.
