Full Blown Chaos is an American metalcore band from New York City , New York that was formed in 1997.

Band history

The band was formed in Queens in 1997 and consisted of guitarist Mike Facci, drummer Jeff Facci, bassist Ed Conroy and singer Chris Morgan. Morgan was replaced by Joe White, who was replaced by Ray Mazzolla shortly thereafter. This was followed by appearances with Sworn Enemy , Figure Four , Hatebreed , All Out War and Death Threat . In 2001 a first self-titled EP was released on Jailhouse Records, the label of bassist Conroy. As the opening act for Sepultura and Voivod through North America in April 2003, the band was able to increase their popularity. In February 2004 they went on tour with Six Feet Under . This was followed by the EP Prophet of Hostility , which was recorded in the Sound Investment Studios in Scranton , Pennsylvania . This was followed a short time later by the debut album Wake the Demons . The album was released, like the EP before, on Stillborn Records , the label of Hatebreed singer Jamey Jasta . Then they went on a US tour in September and October with Shadows Fall , Candiria and All That Remains . From December 6th to 22nd they went on tour through North America, together with Hatebreed, Terror and No Warning .

In 2005 the band played almost 300 gigs. Meanwhile, Mike "Lurk" Ruehle was the bass player in the band. The year began with a US tour with Bury Your Dead , Freemonitions of War and Walls of Jericho in January and February. Further US appearances followed in April and May together with God Forbid , Caliban and It Dies Today . In the summer the group played in the USA together with Sown Enemy, Scars of Tomorrow , Winter Solstice and Agents of Man . The group held new concerts with God Forbid in July, where they also performed with Himsa . In November the group led the Hatebreed Tour 10 Years of Brutality, which also featured Most Precious , Gizmachi , If Hope Dies and Manntis . In December the band went to Europe , where they played together with Agnostic Front , Hatebreed, Napalm Death , Born from Pain and The Red Chord. Also played in Hamburg , together with Born from Pain, Agnostic Front, Napalm Death, The Bones , The Red Chord and Bleed the Sky . In 2005 the band also played with bands like Slipknot , Superjoint Ritual and Chimaira . In February 2006, the group recorded with producer Erich Rachel in the Trax East Studios in New Jersey the album Within the Grasp of Titans , which was released that same year. After performing in the US in April and May with The Classic Struggle and Exodus , the band took part in Ozzfest . In September and October they went on tour through Europe with God Forbid, Maroon , Heaven Shall Burn , Cataract , Purified in Blood and A Perfect Murder . Another European tour followed in November, in which Unearth and Hatebreed also took part. The tour included appearances in Germany , Denmark , the Netherlands , Italy , France , Switzerland , Austria , Great Britain and Belgium . style

According to Matthias Weckmann from Metal Hammer differs Within the Grasp of Titans of a mixture of still significantly from its predecessor, thrash metal - riffs brand Pantera and Slayer with hardcore punk have exhibited. The band still seems energetic, but almost over-ambitious, because you don't give the listener time to breathe. In his review of Heavy Lies the Crown , Jan Fleckhaus from Metal Hammer stated that the band continued their style from their predecessors on the album and played metallic New York Hardcore . As usual, the album features “machine gun riffs, grooving Moshers, numerous breakdowns ”. In addition, a Thrash Metal influence can be clearly heard.

In his review of Within the Grasp of Titans , Tobias Ernst from Ox-Fanzine stated that the band is very similar to Hatebreed in terms of sound and vocals. Ernst wrote in his review of the follow-up album Heavy Lies the Crown that a lot has changed since its last review. The songs are now less simple; he is now mainly fascinated by the structure of the songs. In addition, the metal content is now much higher in the songs, which one of the drums and the use of guitar solos could notice. The title of the song with the same title as the album goes back to the expression of a fan, which he used in conversation with Ray Mazzola, which made her feel so impressed Mazzola that he allowed this expression to flow into his music.
