Gronowo [ ɡrɔˈnɔvɔ ] ( German Waldhaus / Forst Grunau ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . He belongs to the Gmina Mrągowo ( rural community Sensburg ) in the powiat Mrągowski (district Sensburg ).
Geographical location
The forest settlement ( Polish: Osada leśna Gronowo) - it should not be confused with the village of Gronowo ( also Grunau in German ), which is also located in the powiat Mrągowski - is located in the middle of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , five kilometers southwest of the district town of Mrągowo ( German Sensburg ).
history
The settlement known today as Gronowo Leśniczówka and before 1945 Waldhaus Grunau or Forsthaus Grunau was incorporated into the rural community of Bagnowenwolka (1929 to 1945 Tiefendorf , Polish: Wólka Bagnowska ) and belonged to the Sensburg district in the Gumbinnen administrative district (1905 to 1945 administrative district) Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia .
1945 came Grunau in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Gronowo".
