The R67 is a dual carriageway in Hungary that will connect Kaposvár with Lake Balaton for 46.5 km from 2019 . The first section runs alongside the current Route 67, which is very accident-prone. The entire length should be drivable by 2022, reducing travel time by 10 minutes and avoiding accidents. The "R" stands for Republic and is intended to distinguish it from the "M" for motorway that is usual in Hungary . There are several so-called turbo roundabouts on the route, but no rest areas have been planned. The route kilometers begin at 46, as route 67 starts in Szigetvár and the new construction begins at kilometer 46.
