Autópálya M86 ( Hungarian for 'M86 motorway'), also called Szombathelyi autóút (Hungarian for 'Steinamangerer Schnellstraße'), is a north-south expressway in Hungary and part of the European route 65 . It starts in Mosonmagyaróvár and ends at Szombathely .

In the future, it will cross the M85 Győr - Sopron motorway near Csorna . To bypass the city, a six-lane motorway will be built in the east of the city from June 2013 to mid-2015.

In September 2013, construction started on another section from Szeleste towards Csorna. Work on the nearly 7.5 km long section was completed on September 18, 2015, and the line was opened.

The last construction stretch is Hegyfalu – Csorna. Work on the almost 33.4 km long section should be completed on October 25, 2016 - at a net cost of 65.9 billion forints.

On June 28, 2014 the expressway between Szombathely and Vát opened temporarily, the official opening took place on July 24, 2014.

On September 9, 2015, the 12.5 km expressway between Csorna-Nord and Szilsárkány was opened.

On October 25, 2016, the 33.4 km expressway between Hegyfalu and Szilsárkány was opened.

In Szombathely, the expressway will in future be connected to the M9 motorways in an east-west direction and the M87 in a north-west direction ( Kőszeg , Oberpullendorf ).
